Go out and FLY!!!

A hang glider or a paraglider

Have you ever dreamed of flying  over the Sandia Mountains? Or of watching the sunset unfold across the desert while you soar a mile above Albuquerque? Have you ever wanted to join the paragliders launching above the east end of Menaul, and share the joy of silent, unpowered flight? Have you had dreams in which you ran until your feet left the ground and you then climbed and flew over the earth with ease?

Then  foot launched aviation is what you have always been meant to pursue.

The Sandia Soaring Association is a community of pilots. We maintain a forum for our members to plan trips, to suggest activities, and to raise the cry, "Let's Go Flying!" when the wind is sweet. You're welcome to join us, subject to the terms on the page you'll get when you click this button.

Come join us in the sports of hang gliding and paragliding. Learn to fly from one of our local schools. Experience the thrill of a golden eagle coming to look you over, almost close enough to touch. Achieve the ecstasy Leonard da Vinci yearned for: break the bonds of Earth, and fly.

Where do we fly in New Mexico? Our sites range from training hills for new pilots to the towering Sandias, with lots of variety between. Take a look at some of the places you can soar if you learn to fly, or if you visit our state.

Check out local and national weather with these web sites and phone numbers. Talk to the Little Green Woman on Sandia Crest for conditions on the Big Mountain, or call Flight Services for a Pilot's Weather Brief.

These are the men and women who keep this club alive. Thanks!

Know these if you're going to fly here.
